In a generously equiped loft of 500 square meters they are not only practicing together: it´s more like an artistic playground - in addition to training studios, and a rehearsal stage one can also find a photographic studio and an editing suite.
The idea of Base Berlin is irresistible: Neither an additional training nor just management, Base Berlin wants to bridge the gap between the professional education and the establishment on stage with an open space. In this sense the artists should sustainably connect with choreographers, directors and photographers.
When circus-arts-director Markus Pabst and acrobat Pierre Caesar founded Base Berlin they wanted to create an appropriate framework promoting creativity, creating new shows and assisting in worldwide engagements. Because it is very important to Pabst and Caesar to promote their young talents personal development, the group is intentionally small: there are only eight members of Base Berlin.
Even if Base Berlin was founded only three years ago it is already very successful: In record time they evolved to be a constant in international variety scene. At 31. Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris three of the eight artists of Base Berlin have been nominated for gold medals as best juniors.
